A driver of Scania truck has died on the spot while three others have been injured following a head-on collision with a Benz truck, hitting another truck in a road traffic accident which occurred in Serenje District, Central Province.

According to Central Province Police Commissioner, Charity Munganga, the accident occurred about 15 Kilometres west of  serenje district at around 09: 00 hours.

Ms Munganga explained that the accident happened when the driver of a Scania truck registration number T168, Daniel Dismus Fulunge who was overtaking another Scania truck collided with a Benz truck registration T105 DXJ which was coming from the opposite direction and later hit the Scania truck registration T590 EEW which he was over overtaking.

Ms Munganga told ZANIS in Kabwe that Fulunge died on the spot due to the impact of the accident.

“Both the drivers of the Benz truck and the other Scania trucks and the conductor were rushed to Serenje district hospital, and all the three trucks were extensively damaged,” she said.

She stated that the body of the deceased was deposited at Serenje District hospital awaiting post-mortem.
