Government has included the construction of Kabinga Health Centre in Kabinga Chiefdom under Kanchibiya Constituency in the 2025 Ministry of Health Infrastructure Operational Plan.
This follows a question raised in Parliament by Kanchibiya Member of Parliament, Sunday Chanda, to the Minister of Health on when the government will construct the Kabinga health centre.
And Acting Minister of Health, Brenda Tambatamba, confirmed the development and stated that the Ministry of Health has reclassified Mini Hospitals as Health Centres due to the absence of mortuaries in the facilities.
The new Kabinga Health Centre will feature a Maternity Annex and an In-Patient Department (IPD) Service Block, expanding healthcare services to a catchment population of between 15,000 and 30,000 people.
The new facility is expected to improve access to quality healthcare in the region.
