PRESIDENT HAKAINDE HICHILEMA EXPECTED IN MONGU

President Hakainde Hichilema is expected in Mongu District of Western Province to officiate at this year’s National Youth Day Celebrations. 

The President is expected to arrive in the provincial capital at 08:00 hours at the Mongu Airport. 

Western Province Permanent Secretary, Simomo Akapelwa, has told ZANIS in an interview that the Head of State will start by paying a courtesy call on the Litunga Lubosi the second, at his palace in Limulunga. 

Mr Akapelwa added that the President will also lay wreaths at the cenotaph at Mongu Boma at 10:00 hours before proceeding to the main arena at Mongu Sports Stadium. 

He said during the event, Mr Hichilema will tour exhibition stands displayed by the youths before giving his speech. 

Mr Akapelwa explained that later in the day, the President will have a public interaction with the people of Mongu before departure for Lusaka in the afternoon.

The Permanent Secretary has expressed happiness at the President’s visit to the province. 

He has since appealed to the people of Mongu, especially youths, to turn up in large numbers to celebrate their day.
