Mulambo urges SADC to strive for peace

SADC Ministerial Committee on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation, Chairperson Mulambo Haimbe says the regional bloc needs to strive to ensure that the peace and security is guarded at all costs.

Mr Haimbe says when one country’s peace and security is endangered, the development of the rest of the region is affected.

He was Speaking during the opening of an Extraordinary meeting of the ministerial committee of the SADC organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation. 

And Mr Haimbe who is also Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs said the committee will receive an update on the situation in eastern part of Cabo delGado Province in Mozambique as well as the eastern part of Democratic Republic of Congo.

Meanwhile SADC Executive Secretary Elias  Magosi said without peace and security, the necessary goals of development in the region would not be attained.

Mr Magosi expressed confidence that the deliberation will be a success.
