A 36 year old woman, identified as Musanshi Chileshe of Nkwazi Compound in Ndola District died on the spot after being hit by a train.

The deceased Chileshe was allegedly hit by a train around 20 hours along Ndola railway line station near Chipulukusu Compound. 

Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba  has confirmed the incident to ZANIS adding that the incident occurred on the  seventh of April 2024 and is currently under investigation.

“ The deceased who was hit by a goods train number 154 Locomotive number 01-704 was found along Sakanya Railway line near Chipulukusu Compound, “ he said.

The matter was  reported to Kanyanje police post by Derick Chileshe who is the brother to the deceased and also a resident of Nkwazi Compound.

Chileshe disclosed that  the deceased was last seen on the sixth of April at around 14 hours by her husband Maybin Mubanga.

Mr. Mweemba said that Unknown sources have also unveiled that the deceased was lastly seen with unknown male person along the named railway line around 20 hours where the incident occurred.

The Commanding Officer said that the male person is yet to be identified as investigations are still on going.
