UPND WOMEN URGED TO DEFEND PRESIDENT HICHILEMA

UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) National Women’s Mobilization Team Chairperson Lonah Chisuta has called on women in Northern Province to defend President Hakainde Hichilema from critics.

Mrs. Chisuta has told women to protect the President from critics by explaining to the people some of the developments that the government has delivered in the nation.

She said the UPND has delivered massive development across the nation which has benefited citizens and that critics should be shamed by explaining what the government is doing.

She indicated that the National Women Mobilizing Team is working hard to ensure that it mobilizes the people to support and appreciate President Hakainde Hichilema’s developmental agenda.

Speaking during the launch of the Women Mobilizing Team Northern Province Chapter in Kasama District, Mrs Chisuta said the team wants to ensure that in 2026 the UPND government and President Hichilema continue ruling the country.

Mrs Chisuta urged UPND Party Women members to support their fellow women in the party who are involved in political activism and those who are aspiring to various positions.

Womens Mobilization team National Chapter Coordinator Getrude Sitwala also encouraged the Provincial team to ensure that the mobilization of the party is effectively done.

Mrs Sitwala further appealed to UPND members not to be engaging in illicit activities which may dent the name of the party in power.

She said President Hakainde Hichilema has made it clear that any member of UPND who will be found on the wrong side of the law will not be protected.

Mrs Sitwala said it is the duty of the Mobilization team to protect the party and inform the public what the government is doing.

She told all that will be elected to spearhead the Northern Province chapter to be vibrant and sell the party manifesto.
