PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema says Zambia is keen to learn from the strides made by Turkey over the years in the economic sphere.
President Hichilema cited the admirable strides made in the areas of trade, energy, infrastructure, agriculture and technology which the Zambian economy is working towards.
The Head of State was speaking when outgoing Turkish Ambassador to Zambia, Istem Circiroglu bed farewell at State House.
President Hichilema stressed the importance for the two countries to deepen partnership and continue collaboration in various areas including trade.
He noted that Zambia looks forward to further conversations on issues that need resolving.
“The size of Turkey’s economy has tremendously grown and also the size of corporate business has impactfully grown beyond the boundaries of Turkey,” President Hichilema said.
The President commended the outgoing Ambassador for her service in the country that has bettered bilateral relations between Zambia and Turkey,” he noted.
And outgoing Turkish Ambassador to Zambia Istem Circiroglu stated the important trade partnerships between the two countries which has resulted increased revenue from 20 million to 52 million United States Dollars.
Ambassador Circiroglu thanked the Zambian government for the support rendered during her time of service.
