PARAMOUNT Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba People has commended Zambia Army personnel for exhibiting professionalism in their operations in the region.
Speaking at Kasama Airport yesterday when he met Zambia Army Deputy Commander Luswepo Sinyinza, Chief Chitimukuklu noted that the Zambia Army troops have seamlessly co-existed with the community and the local leadership in the district.
“We feel very protected by the troops in Kasama District and we have not had any reports of indiscipline from the Zambia Army troops,” he said.
Chief Chitimukulu has since congratulated Major General Sinyinza for his appointment and subsequent promotion as Deputy Army Commander.
And Major General Sinyinza pledged that he will ensure protection in the region and the nation as a whole.
“It is pleasing to learn of the cooperation between the locals and our troops, the command will ensure the co-existence is elevated to greater heights,” he said.
The Zambia Army Deputy Commander later toured the Northern Command Headquarters to appreciate the developments in the company of the Formation Commander, Brigadier General Killian Kaila and other officers in his entourage.
And speaking when he addressed officers and soldiers at the formation headquarters in Kasama Major General Sinyinza urged them to remain steadfast in protecting the territorial integrity of the nation.
The Chief of Staff further challenged the troops to uphold discipline saying it is the cornerstone of the army.
He further implored the troops to value their families as they continue to co-exist with the local authorities in the region.
The Deputy Army Commander later interacted with Imbwo Ladies Club of Northern Command and urged them to continue serving alongside their military spouses.
