ZDA conducting financial literacy training to CDF beneficiaries

The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) is providing financial literacy training to Constituency Development Fund loan and grant recipients in Itezhi-Tezhi district of Southern Province.

The training is designed to provide CDF loan and grant recipients with financial literacy, allowing them to succeed in their chosen business while also improving their decision-making, financial management, and entrepreneurship skills.

ZDA Business Development Specialist, Precious Phiri, says the four-day training aims to provide CDF loan and grant beneficiaries with entrepreneurial and financial management skills.

She says the training workshop focuses on improving participants’ knowledge and skills in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and financial management, which will eventually help CDF recipients better manage their finances and achieve financial sustainability.

Ms Phiri says she was pleased that the majority of participants enjoyed the training.

Meanwhile, Itezhi-Tezhi District Commissioner, Tobias Namantemba has urged participants from various cooperatives to change their mindsets in order to grow their businesses.

He said that in the past, the local government provided money to people without any form of training, and they misused the funds.

And participants have praised the ZDA for their eye-opening and important training for their business.

Ballard Zulu, from Becoming Youth Cooperative, which is in timber processing business, says that the training will help them in their business.

The intensive training is being held in collaboration with the Itezhi-Tezhi Town Council for the successful loan and grant recipients of the Constituency Development Fund Loan Fund (CDF) for 2024.
