Government has reaffirmed its continued support and commitment towards bringing health care services as close to the communities as possible.

In bid to attain universal health coverage and promote continuum of care, the Government is earmarked to construct a health care facility in Chief Chinyama’s Chiefdom in Zambezi west bank.

This came to light when North Western Province Health Director, Luckson Chidikita called on chief Chinyama at his palace.

Dr Chidikita said the Government has continued to strive hard to ensure equitable access to affordable and cost-effective health care services are brought as close to the families as possible.

He said the construction of the health facility and maternity wing will significantly improve health care and maternal health services thereby reducing maternal mortalities.  

Dr Chidikita said the Government attaches great importance to improving health infrastructure in all health facilities to ensure patients are provided with a clean and conducive environment.

And Chief Chinyama has commended the Government for prioritizing health care services especially in the hard-to-reach areas like his chiefdom.

The traditional leader said the development will significantly enhance the provision of quality health care services in his chiefdom.

Chief Chinyama called on the Government to strengthen human resource capacity at Chinyama Litapi rural health centre as well as provide an ambulance to ease transportation of referred patients.
