Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Chipoka Mulenga, says Government is committed to bringing financial inclusion to all Zambians as it is an essential pillar for the country’s economic development strategy.
Speaking during the launch of Zambia National Commercial Bank (Zanaco) private banking lounge at Agora village in Lusaka, Mr Mulenga noted that Government will continue to put in place policies that will ensure all Zambians regardless of social economic background have access to financial services.
He explained that financial inclusion will in turn empower individuals and families to improve their livelihoods and contribute positively to the overall growth of the economy.
He commended the Bank for bringing a private banking lounge closer to the people and urged Zambians to utilise the facility.
The Minister explained that in 2024, Government launched a second financial inclusion strategy which sets a strategic roadmap to achieve 85 percent financial inclusion in the next five years.
“This strategy is focused on increasing a number of financially included individuals across the country, Zanaco has remained to be a key partner with Government by aligning its services with national priorities by offering tailor financial solutions to high net individuals,” he said.
He observed that the Bank is not only serving an important segment of the economy, but also setting the benchmark for innovation and excellence within the banking sector by bringing various sectors such as SMEs.
Zanaco Chief Executive Officer, Mukwandi Chibesakunda said the bank is committed to walking alongside its customers every step of the way.

She emphasised that Zanaco is also ready to step in promptly during periods of stress occasioned by natural calamities.
Zanaco Board Chairman, Oliver Saasa, said the new private banking Lounge is considered as a vital step in achieving the bank’s Vision.
