PRESIDENT HICHILEMA HONORS PATRICIA SCOTLAND

President Hakainde Hichilema has honoured Common Wealth Secretary General, Patricia Scotland with honour of the eagle 2nd Division for her contributions to justice and law.

A special investiture ceremony was held to honour Ms Scotland for her remarkable contributions to the Commonwealth and her instrumental role in securing the release of President Hakainde Hichilema from prison.

Her diplomatic efforts and advocacy helped to bring international attention to the situation, which led to the President’s release.

Speaking at the Ceremony, Mr Hichilema who was represented by Principal Private Sector, Bradford Machila, highlighted Ms Scotland’s tremendous achievements among them being the first woman to serve as Commonwealth Secretary General and first woman to be appointed as Attorney General.

Mr Hichilema said Ms Scotland is celebrated for her tireless efforts in promoting peace, democracy, and human rights across the Commonwealth.

He said her leadership has been instrumental in fostering cooperation and unity among member states, and her commitment to justice and equality has inspired countless individuals around the world.

Her selfless service and unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and human rights have inspired a generation of leaders and citizens around the world.
