NEW LUSAKA PROVINCE PS URGED TO WORK HARD

Lusaka Province Minister Sheal Mulyata has urged recently appointed Provincial Permanent Secretary Joe Kalusa to embrace a work culture of team work as he takes up the new challenge.

And Ms Mulyata called on the new Permanent Secretary to do his level best in the discharge of his duties, assuring him that he has the full support of her office.

Speaking in Lusaka district during a Senior Management meeting to introduce the Permanent Secretary to members of staff, the Lusaka Province Minister urged Mr Kalusa to create a good rapport with departmental heads and directors as he settles into the new role.

Ms Mulyata also called on senior officials at provincial administration to give Mr Kalusa the necessary support required to undertake his duties.

She asked Mr Kalusa to move in swiftly and address the challenges at provincial administration which include issues pertaining to transport.

The Minister told the new Permanent to be social with the members of staff while maintaining firmness when making decisions.

And Mr Kalusa asked senior management to make the right decisions at all costs.

He however called on management not to take advantage of being new in the position by misleading him into making choices that are not right.

Mr Kalusa said his performance is dependent upon the departments and directorates that report to him.

He also challenged management to ensure that they attain zero audit queries as they undertake their duties.

Meanwhile, Lusaka Province Deputy Permanent Secretary, Alex Mapushi urged members of staff to be professional and avoid serving individuals but that their allegiance should be to an office.
