President Hakainde Hichilema has expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for having an enhanced comprehensive, strategic and cooperative partnership with Zambia.


Mr Hichilema acknowledged the stability of China’s political system, adding that stability is very important in any system as it helps to counter common risks and threats among partner countries.


ZANIS reports that the President was speaking today at State House when a Chinese delegation from the Chinese People Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) led by its National Committee Vice Chairperson Shao Hong paid a courtesy call on him.


He said the visit by the CPPCC gives both China and Zambia an opportunity to continue exchanging views between the two countries in many aspects of the two countries’ partnership.


He also said Zambia continues to acknowledge and support the One China policy as it has been done by Zambia’s successive governments.


And CPPCC National Committee Vice Chairperson Shao Hong said the aim of the visit is to promote common understanding between the two heads of State, expand tangible cooperation as well as enhance the China-Zambia all-weather friendship


Mr Hong also praised President Hichilema’s administration, for governing the country with great determination and dedication.


He further congratulated President Hichilema for making prominent achievements in national development and people’s well-being.

He said Mr Hichilema’s visit to China in September this year, laid a new blueprint in the relationship between Zambia and China.
