Mbala Municipal Council has released K19,800 for the repair of two refrigerators, at the Mbala General Hospital Mortuary.

Mbala Town Clerk, Laura Munkanta says the funds have been sourced from the Constituency Development Funds (CDF).

Confirming the development to ZANIS in Mbala, Mrs Munkanta says the repair works will involve the refrigerators, with one expected to hold a capacity of six bodies and another one with the capacity of four bodies.

The town clerk is optimistic that the mortuary at the general hospital will have the capacity to store 13 bodies once worked on.

Meanwhile, Acting Mbala General Hospital Medical superintendent, Ziqondiso Moyo has thanked the local authority for the gesture.

Dr Moyo has since urged the contractor to work within the stipulated time if the district is to end the challenges that the hospital is facing at the mortuary.
