A 37-year-old man of Senanga District is nursing serious injuries after being shot at by unknown people using an unknown type of firearm.
Western Province Police Commanding Officer, David Chileshe confirmed the development to ZANIS in Mongu and identified the victim as Mubiana Mwakoi aged 37 of Mushukula village in Sitangamanyanga area in Senanga District.
Mr Chileshe said the victim who sustained injuries on the left collar bone is currently admitted to Senanga district hospital.
“The victim sustained injuries of a gunshot wound on the left collar bone. He is admitted to Senanaga district hospital and is in stable condition,” he said.
Mr Chileshe said police have since launched a man hunt for the criminals who are still on the run.
Meanwhile, a 29 year old man of Nalolo District in Western Province has been stabbed on the hand with a knife after an altercation.
The victim identified as Mooyo Mange of Newa area in Nalolo district was unlawfully wounded by Emmanuel Inambao causing him to sustain a deep cut on the hand.
“The assailant is on the run and we have since launched a manhunt,” Mr Chileshe said.
The Provincial Police Chief has advised members of the public not to resort to violence stating that Zambia is a Christian nation where people should live in harmony.
