KALULUSHI Municipal Council has approved 19 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) community projects for the year 2025 amounting to over 17 Million Kwacha.
In a Press statement issued to ZANIS, Council Acting Public Relations Manager Lida Kamanga says Council Town Clerk Betty Liswaniso approved the projects.
Ms Kamanga said the projects approved are amounting to K17,750,444.13.
She noted that the community projects are meant to improve the well-being and development of residents in Kalulushi Constituency and to address key community needs across various sectors such as health, education, security and water and sanitation.
Ms Kamanga identified the approved community projects as construction of a MCH shelter at Kalulushi Urban Clinic in Kalungwishi Ward, Water Reticulation System in Kafue Ward, and the drilling of boreholes in Luapula Ward.
She said the other projects are Water Reticulation System in Dongwe Ward, construction of Kabaso Bridge in Lulamba Ward, Water Reticulation System in Kalengwa Ward and the procurement of a laundry machine for Kalulushi General Hospital in Kalanga Ward.
Ms Kamanga disclosed that procurement of 1,000 desks for all 24 wards of the Constituency, Construction of incinerator, placenta pit, installation of water reticulation system and solar system at Chembe North Health Post in Chembe Ward.
She further disclosed that the Construction of placenta pit and installation of water reticulation system at Lubanga Health Post in Lubanga Ward, Installation of solar system at Minsenga Clinic in Mwambashi Ward, Construction of placenta pit and installation of solar system at Musakashi Health Post in Musakashi ward.
Ms Kamanga said the Construction of incinerator, placenta pit, maintenance works of existing maternity facility and electricity connection at Twaiteka Health Post in Twaiteka ward, Construction of incinerator, placenta pit and installation of water reticulation system at Chibote Clinic in Remmy Chisupa Ward will be undertaken.
She explained that the procurement of medical equipment and furniture for maternity annexes at Chembe North, Chembe, Minsenga, Musakashi, Twaiteka, and Chibote Health Posts.
Ms Kamanga added that the council has also approved the connection of Sitwe Police Post to the national electricity grid and procurement of furniture in Sitwe Ward.
She said the completion of the Science Laboratory at Twalubuka Secondary School in Chambishi Ward and the completion of the Science Laboratory at Lukoshi Secondary School in Lukoshi Ward will also be done.
She added that the other project is the completion of a 1 x 4 classroom block at Chibuluma Primary School in Buseko Ward.
Meanwhile, Ms Kamanga notes that Kalulushi Constituency is one of the constituencies selected to participate in the CDF decentralisation pilot programme where Town Clerks are granted authority to approve community projects while other components continue to be approved by the Provincial Local Government Officer.
