CDF transforming Chipata

The Constituency Development Fund (CDF) continues to wield its transformative power across various Zambian communities, with Chipata Central emerging as a prime beneficiary in road infrastructure development.

Chipata City Council Director Engineering Muyunda Muyambango says the impact of the CDF was being felt everywhere especially in enhancing the road and infrastructure network within Chipata central.

Mr. Muyambango in an interview with ZANIS said the CDF has catapulted various development in the provincial capital in recent times.

“A notable allocation of K500,000 from the CDF has been earmarked for the much-needed rehabilitation and construction works on the Katopola road and this investment reflects a concerted effort to address longstanding challenges and improve the overall accessibility and safety of road networks in the area,” he said.

And CDF Chairperson Patrick Daka, said the construction of the road network in Katopala area was timely when the area was experiencing a lot of road traffic accidents.

“The allocation of funds for road infrastructure underscores the commitment of the CDF committee to prioritise projects that directly impact the well-being of the community,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Mary Nkhata, a resident of Chipata Central, expressed her satisfaction with the ongoing development efforts facilitated by the CDF.

She emphasised the need for further upgrades to bring the road to modern standards and ensure its sustainability.

Residents of Chipata central remain hopeful for a future characterized by improved road infrastructure and enhanced quality of life.
