Copper queens ready to face Atlas Lionesses of Morroco

Zambia Women’s National Team coach, Bruce Mwape says the team is ready to face Atlas Lionesses of Morocco for the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifier final round, first leg match scheduled for Friday, 5th April, 2024 at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Mwape says only three foreign based players are missing and all the local players are already in camp preparing for the game.

He adds that Margret Belemu and the rest of the team that recently came back from the military training will not be part of the game as they need to regain fitness for their clubs.

Speaking in a telephone interview with ZANIS, Mwape said the foreign based players Racheal Kundananji and Prisca Chilufya are expected to join the team today.

“We called for 34 players including the professionals and the ones who will do better in their respective position are the ones that will play on Friday,” he said.

Mwape further added that the team has been in camp since last week and is confident that the queens are ready for the game.

He stated that the squad for the 2024 Olympic qualifier final round will be named tomorrow, Wednesday.
