Chitimukulu to officiate at 2024 Kuomboka Traditional ceremony

Paramount Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba people is set to  officiate at this year’s Kuomboka traditional ceremony of the Lozi speaking people of Western province.

The Ukusefya Pangw’ena organizing Committee Secretary Richard Mukuka says the Mwine-lumbemba will be in Mongu on 18th April ahead of the Kuomboka Ceremony of the Lozi people which takes place on 20th April, 2024.

Mr Mukuka says the traditional leader will grace the Kuomboko ceremony at the invitation of the Litunga.

In an interview with ZANIS in Kasama, he explained that this is the Bemba Royal Establishment (BRE)’s reciprocal move as last year invited the Litunga to grace the ukusefya Pangw’ena traditional ceremony.

” Last year the Mwinelubemba extended an invitation to the Litunga to grace the 2023 Ukusefya Pangw’ena traditional ceremony which marked the beginning of promoting unity and improving relationships,” he said.

Mr Mukuka said  the development is a step in the right direction in promoting national unity adding that traditional leaders play in uniting the country.

“And it is for this reason that King Lubosi Imwiko the second of the Lozi people and Paramount chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba speaking people have taken positive steps towards helping nations heal through cultural exchange” he said,
