SIAVONGA Local Authority has expressed gratitude to Smart Zambia for training the devolved Ministries on how to utilise digital technologies in executing various functions.

Siavonga Town Council Director of Finance, Newton Sikazwe, says the training of the heads of departments by Smart Zambia will help the local authority in fostering development to the public.

Mr Sikazwe explained that digitalisation will also help the Ministries of Health, Community Development, Fisheries, Forest among others that have been devolved to local authorities to deliver information on government developmental programs to the communities they serve on time.

He noted that going digital will help the Council to increase its revenue collection as it will cut on time as transactions will be online.

“We are thankful to Smart Zambia for training the heads of departments that have been devolved to councils on the importance of going digital and doing many online transactions, “he said.

And Siavonga District Health Director, Adidjah Sumbwe who spoke on behalf of Siavonga Council Secretary thanked Smart Zambia stating that the training will be a game changer for both the devolved departments and the community.

Smart Zambia in conjunction with the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has embarked on training heads of departments that have been devolved to the local authority.
