OVER 1000 HOUSEHOLDS TO BENEFIT FROM FSP IN LUAMPA

OVER 1000 farming households in Luampa District are set to receive agricultural inputs through the Food Security Pack initiative implemented by the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services.

This was disclosed by Luampa District Community Development Officer, Raphael Malumo during a meeting in Luampa.

“Providing these inputs is a key government strategy aimed at alleviating poverty and enhancing food security at the household level,” Mr. Malumo said.

He praised the government’s ongoing efforts to implement poverty reduction programmes in the district, noting that Luampa has also benefited from wetland farming initiatives, supporting 3,800 households in the area.

“Despite these positive developments, challenges remain, particularly regarding the lack of storage facilities for agricultural inputs,” Mr. Malumo said.

Luampa District Disaster Management Officer Alvin Maila echoed the concerns, highlighting similar issues with storage for relief food.

Both officials urged the Luampa Town Council to prioritise the construction of storage facilities using the Constituency Development Fund.
