The free education policy has enabled more children return back to school- Kapata

Ministry of Information and Media Director Spokesperson Henry Kapata says the free education policy, has allowed pupils and youths who dropped out of school to return back to school.

Mr Kapata has since implored all head teachers in public schools to incorporate pupils and youths who dropped out of school to attend classes.

ZANIS reports that Mr Kapata, was speaking when he toured a one by three Classroom block at Dambo Combined School and another one by three classroom block at Ndeke Caritas Combined School that have been constructed under Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Mr Kapata noted that the classrooms that are built under CDF have helped in reducing teenage pregnancies as girls who could not afford to go back to school are able to attend classes now.

And Dambo Combined School Headteacher Tione Phiri has applauded the government for its commitment towards improving the education sector in the country.

Mr Phiri noted that the 1 by 3 classroom block that was constructed, helped to decongest the overcrowded classes.

The headteacher also appealed to the government to consider building a laboratory, staff room and a school hall.

Meanwhile, David Mukonda, one of the pupils at Dambo Combined School also appreciated the government for procuring desks for the school.

Later Mr Kapata toured Ndeke Caritas Combined School where he encouraged learners who were attending external classes for having taken advantage of the free education policy.
