BRE pledges support to promote national values

The Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) has pledged support to ensure that national values and principles trickle down to all people in the community.

Speaking when officials from Departments of National Guidance and Religious Affairs and Chiefs and Traditional Affairs visited the palace today, Induna lmanene said the BRE will take it upon itself to teach people on national values and principles in order to promote morality among people.

“The engagement of traditional leaders in the whole process is welcome and we will make sure that the message goes to villages,” Induna Imanene said.

He observed that the national values and principles are not new to anyone because President Hakainde Hichilema has already explained them to the nation.

Induna lmanene said it is pleasing to note that the government has also included national values and principles in the school curriculum to enable children learn about morality at an early age.

He stated that the clergy is equally key in the dissemination of information about national values and principles because they preach morality in the church.

“We are happy that you have come to even sensitise our children in tertiary institutions because they also need the information the most,” he said.

National Guidance and Religious Affairs Director, Dr Sunday Mwape, said raising awareness about values and principles is a constitutional assignment that is directed at all meaning Zambians.
