K 800,000 disbursed in Kalumbila under 2024 CDF

-Kalumbila Town Council in North-western Province has disbursed K 800,000 from the 2024  Constituency Development Fund to over 64 women and youth cooperatives under the grants allocation.

North-Western Province Permanent Secretary Col. Grandson Katambi  (rtd ) says it is government’s desire to see development spread to all parts of the country especially the rural areas.

Col. Katambi said government is committed to improving the livelihood of its citizens through the provisions of different empowerment programs.

The Provincial Permanent Secretary said this in a speech read on his behalf by his deputy permanent secretary Tradeson Mulofwa during the handover ceremony of the 2024 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to women, Youths and Community Development grant at Kalumbila Civic Centre today.

Stating that President Hakainde Hichilema is committed to see to it that no one dies of hunger, Col. Katambi urged the beneficiaries to see to it that they put to good use the grants they have received from Government.

He said the grants which has been given to the beneficiaries are a game charger to their livelihood which can benefit both families and the community at larger.

Meanwhile the Permanent Secretary has appealed to traditional leaders and all the technocrats from the local authority and other government department to enhance on monitoring and inspections to ensure that the grants given to people are put to good use.

Speaking during the same function Kalumbila District Constituency Development Fund Chairperson Gilly Kakunta said this year two hundred Youths were sponsored to  various skills training Institute using CDF bursaries.

Mr. Kakunta said this has pressure on some mines and other private sector that were over burdened with the program of sponsoring youths in Skill development programs.
