Kasenengwa District Agricultural Committee (DAC) Vice Chairperson, Dabwitso Munga has adives Farmers under the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) in the district to prudently utilize the inputs.
Mr. Munga, says farmers need to ensure they use the agricultural inputs for intended purposes for them to have good yields.
Speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Kasenengwa , Mr Munga observed that government delivered the inputs on time so that farmers could adequately prepare for the 2024/2025 farming season.
He however cautioned farmers on the programme against selling the inputs, adding that the move was likely to compromise production.
“My appeal to my fellow farmers is that they should shun from selling agricultural inputs because in doing so, it will be difficult to alleviate hunger in households,’’ he said.
Mr. Munga also commended the government for the timely delivery of agricultural inputs.
He stated that the timely delivery of inputs would not only help farmers to prepare for the forthcoming farming season but would also reduce the challenges incurred in transporting the inputs.
“We would like to thank government for delivering the inputs in good time.
” The move will help in ensuring that farmers get their inputs with ease, especially that it has not yet started raining to make the roads impassable,’’ he said.
