Three senior govt. officials sworn-in

President Hakainde Hichilema yesterday appointed three people in different senior government positions.

Ringo Zulu was sworn in as Controller of Internal Audits under the Ministry of Finance and National Planning, while Crusivia Hichikumba was sworn in as Permanent Secretary for Investment and Industrialization under the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry respectively. 

And Nsandi Mainza has been sworn in as Accountant General under the Ministry of Finance and National Planning. 

Speaking during the swearing in ceremony at State House, President Hakainde Hichilema urged the newly sworn in government officials to work tirelessly to serve the people of Zambia and focus on developmental issues that will benefit the Zambian citizens.

“If you don’t bring investments, in commerce you don’t encourage for more M-phases to come, then you have not delivered as PS but just hanging in there. The line has been drawn, you must deliver since you have accepted these positions.” The President urged them. 

Mr Hichilema noted that the government has achieved what people thought was impossible through the debt restructuring.

He further called on the newly sworn in government officials to work towards recovering the money that was paid towards the construction of Lusaka-Ndola dual way and the construction of the Fredrick Titus Chiluba University in Mansa and take it towards the development of the country. 

Meanwhile, President Hichilema earlier received a presentation of credentials from Rwanda, France and the United Arab Emirates. 

The three credentials were from Emmanuel Bugingo as Rwanda High Commissioner to Zambia, Thomas Rossignol as France Ambassador to Zambia and Jasim Alqasimi as United Arabirates Ambassador to Zambia. 

Speaking shortly after receiving the credentials, President Hakainde Hichilema welcomed the three excellences and expressed the hope that their accreditations serves as a stepping stone to deepen partnerships between their countries and Zambia.

Mr Hichilema thanked the French government for their role in the Zambian debt restructuring and looks forward to a stronger working relationship between the two countries. 

He expressed happiness on the successful transaction of the Mopani mines with the United Arab Emirates. 

The President noted that the Zambian government will continue to work with the Rwandan government and strengthen their good trade relationship.

And the France Ambassador to Zambia, Thomas Rossignol thanked President Hichilema for the welcome saying France will work with Zambia as equal partners, on issues as diverse as economic development, the preservation of biodiversity and environment, the development of infrastructures, the strengthening of the mining sector and also in sports and culture. 

Rwandan Ambassador to Zambia, Emmanuel Rossignol expressed confidence in their good working relationship with Zambia saying the two countries will continue to work closely in different sectors. 

Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Zambia Jasin Algasimi said his country is ready to work with Zambia.
