Govt. given kudos over Chinsali-Mulilansolo road works

The Traditional leadership in Chinsali District in Muchinga Province are appealing to the government to consider working on the Chinsali-Mulilansolo road.

Chief Nkweto and Chief Mubanga are of the view that rehabilitating the social-economically viable Chinsali-Mulilansolo road will ease and quicken movements by residents and other stakeholders.

They are optimistic that once worked on, the Chinsali-Mulilansolo road will bring development to the area adding that people will be delighted in his chiefdom as they have suffered enough.

The duo were speaking when Muchinga Province Minister Henry Sikazwe recently visited them at their respective palaces.

“People here in my chiefdom find it difficult to even transport their produce to the market in Chinsali boma, hence my appeal to the government to consider working on this road,” he said.

Chief Mubanga expressed concern that owing to the current road conditions, small vehicles are unable to reach his chiefdom.

He said for the government to be recognized and appreciated in his chiefdom, roads and hospitals among other facilities should be worked on.

Meanwhile, Chief Nkweto on the other hand thanked President Hakainde Hichilema for ensuring that the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) reaches the grassroots which he mentioned to be a game changer.

“I’m happy that most of the schools in my chiefdom have been renovated while others have seen new structures which is a good thing,” he said.

Speaking when he visited the two chiefs, Muchinga Province Minister Henry Sikazwe reaffirmed the government’s commitment to work with traditional leaders in the province to foster development.

Mr Sikazwe assured the two Chiefs that the Chinsali-Mulilansolo road is among the government’s priority projects that will be worked on soon.

Mr Sikazwe said the government has engaged the contractor working on Mbesuma bridge across the Chambeshi River to consider working on Chinsali-Mulilansolo road once it completes works on the bridge.

“Let me also inform you that the Road Development Agency (RDA) has assured us that it will work on 594 kilometers of feeder roads in the district, and we added this road to be among those roads to be worked on,” he said.

He also assured the two chiefs that the Chinsali -Mulilansolo road would be worked on before the onset of the rainy season.
