Kasempa district records 98% drug availability

Kasempa District in North-western province is currently at 98 percent of drug availability status in all health facilities across the district.

District Health Director, Mophine Mweene, confirmed to ZANIS news in Kasempa today that the district was on 98% drug availability.

“In terms of drugs under Kasempa district we are sitting on 98% of availability of drugs in all facilities across the district which is a plus to us as a district,” Dr Mweene added.

He said the recent purchase and distribution of health kits had increased the supply of drugs to all health facilities in the district.

Dr Mweene urged Kasempa residents to access health services at various health facilities as all the facilities are well stocked with essential drugs.

“We received Centre kits as a department of health, so as a district we are very much safe in terms of drug availability in our district,” He said.

Dr Mweene further appealed to residents to help the government in the fight against drug pilferage by reporting such acts to relevant authorities.

“If there is any case of drug pilfering in the community please May it be reported to the district health office for the betterment of the community,” He said.

Dr Mweene added that by reporting drug pilferage cases to the relevant authorities the community will be helping the Ministry Of Health to serve the people better.
