Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Minister Mulambo Haimbe says the Zambia Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies is a critical arm of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as it provides important courses, including preparation of diplomats. 

Mr Haimbe who toured the institution today, ordered for the institution to be upgraded into International standards to match the education standards that it provides. 

The Minister thanked the institution and its staff for the Resilience they have shown even in the midst of challenges. 

Earlier, Zambia Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies Executive Director, Violet Phiri highlighted some of the challenges faced by the Institute including inadequate manpower and infrastructure.

Ms. Phiri also shared that the Institute provides diplomacy studies not only to Zambians but the region as well.
