A motorbike rider from Overspill area in Mbala District has died after hitting into a pedestrian.

A relative to the deceased who did not to be identified confirmed that, Sunday Maluba hit into a pedestrian and fell on the tarmac  head first.

He said Mr. Maluba was carrying two passengers on the bike at the time of the accident adding that the victims are currently in hospital for treatment.

The source said the deceased was using a borrowed motorbike.

Meanwhile, confusion arose at the mortuary yesterday when relatives of the injured pedestrian refused to allow the family of the deceased rider to collect the body.

The family of the injured person was demanding compensation for their injured relative.

It took time and negotiations for the relatives of the pedestrians to agree over the collection of the deceased body from the mortuary.
