Isoka approves eight CDF community projects

Isoka Town Council has approved eight community Projects worth over K9 million under the 2024 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocation.

The local authority in collaboration with the Provincial Constituency Development Committee (PCDFC) has given the green light to eight crucial community projects.

According to Isoka Town Council Public Relations Officer (PRO) Peter Sichali the projects, with a combined value of over K9 million, have been approved in line with Gazette Notice No. 1683 of 2022.

Mr Sichali added in an interview that the Isoka Constituency Development Fund Committee (CDFC) recommended eleven projects for approval under the 2024 CDF allocation.

“Among these recommendations, eight projects have now received the necessary approvals to move forward,” he said.

He further noted that the approved projects encompass a range of vital initiatives aimed at enhancing community infrastructure and services.

Mr Sichali stated Isoka town council is now tasked with tendering the approved projects at the earliest opportunity.

“Once contracts are signed, work on these crucial community initiatives is expected to commence promptly,” he said.

The allocation and approval of the CDF community projects as signifying a huge investment in Isoka’s development and infrastructure, with a focus on improving healthcare facilities, transportation services, education infrastructure, and rural electrification.

“These projects are set to make a meaningful impact on the lives of residents, enhancing their quality of life and contributing to overall community development,” he said.

The approved projects include the construction of Phase 2 of Kasoka mini-hospital, a health post in Kabandana village, staff houses at Nansala Primary School and a rural electrification project.

Other approved projects are the procurement of an ambulance, motorbikes for retainers under Senior Chief Kafwimbi and Chief Katyetye, and the repair of a motor grader.
