Namwala District Commissioner Ephraim Shandavu  says  government attaches great importance  in promoting  various  sports activities  in schools.

Shandavu adds that this commitment to holistic development has shaped generations of students and installed values of team work, discipline and resilience.

The Namwala District Commissioner particularly expressed happiness that the District Education officials’ presence at the district zonal sports festival whose theme is “ 60 years strong: honoring our heritage, embracing the future through sports activities.”

The Namwala District Commissioner has since commended the Namwala district education office for organizing such a colorful event.

He added that his aware that  the  country  is  coming from  COVID- 19 and Cholera pandemic and that at one time brought sporting activities to a halt and the nation is still healing from the outbreaks.

Shandavu observed that as the district marks this important milestone there is need to reaffirm its commitment to promoting sports in schools to nurturing talent and to create a supportive environment where every student has an opportunity to shine.
