The Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM) has thanked the government for its unwavering support towards the loss of a fellow musician, Wesley Chibambo fondly known as Dandy Krazy.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with ZANIS, ZAM President Davison MUNSANDA who appreciated the role that government has played thus far over Mr Chibambo’s welfare also called on the general public, bloggers, as well as fellow artists to remain united and refrain from spreading unverified, misleading information especially on social media.
Mr Munsanda noted that there has been a lot of distorted information online, saying people should be sensitive towards issues to do with other people, especially at a critical time such as this.
He added that the association is working hard to ensure that the bodies as well as funeral arrangements for the two others that died on the spot while travelling with Dandy Krazy are also taken care of.
Meanwhile, artists have remembered the former musician not only as a jovial person but also as a man with a huge heart for people as well as his family.
Dapusa Nkhata-Zulu also known as “Sister D” said the late Chibambo’s legacy must be continued, noting that he will surely be missed.
Meanwhile, Comedian Victor Chaushi popularly known as “Kabova” who grew up with Dandy in Ndola noted that he knew Dandy Krazy as a peace maker who always advocated to resolve people’s issues.
He has since wished the entire country, music fraternity as well as the family his deepest condolences in this time of mourning.
Wesley Chibambo succumbed to death in the early hours of today at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) following a road traffic accident that occurred along the Kapiri Mposhi road on December 31, 2024.
