GOVERNMENT has distributed over 2000 packs under the rain fed Food Security Pack (FSP) inputs to beneficiaries in Kasama District.
Kasama District Commissioner Annie Paul says the packs are aimed at supporting the less privileged with inputs adding that the inputs will ensure that the households become food secure and reduce poverty.
ZANIS reports that the District Commissioner has since warned beneficiaries against selling the inputs adding that government will not tolerate anyone who will be found wanting.
Kasama District Community Development Officer Godfrey Mwansa says the distribution of the inputs is at 80 percent complete.
Assuring beneficiaries that his department will complete the distribution of the inputs by Saturday, Mr. Mwansa said government is working tirelessly to ensure that every household is food secure.
He disclosed that the program is targeting to benefit over 2,460 households in Kasama District.
Government is giving 2 bags each of urea and D Compound, a 10 kilogram bag of white maize seed and 10 kilogram of legumes.
