MANAGEMENT at Mbala General Hospital has appealed to the government to consider constructing a Psychiatric Ward at the health facility. 

Mbala General Hospital Administrator, Foster Phiri has observed that doing so will enhance mental health services at the hospital.

Mr Phiri explained that the hospital currently has no psychiatric ward making it difficult to handle such cases.

He was speaking to the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in an interview in Mbala today.

Mr Phiri said it would be important for the government to consider providing specific wards for mental health services to meet the growing demand.
