ATTORNEY General Mulilo Kabesha has described the late Healing Word Ministries Pastor Moses Chiluba as a true servant of God who devoted his life to preaching the message of love and unity.
And Mr Kabesha has assured the late Pastor Chiluba ‘s widow Victoria Chiluba that Government will ensure that CAMNET Television continues to operate without being shut down because it has a mandate to win souls to God.
ZANIS reports that Mr Kabesha was speaking during the funeral church service in honour of Pastor Chiluba in Lusaka on Saturday.
Mr Kabesha further pledged Government’s support to the family of the late Pastor Chiluba.
“As Government, we are together in mourning our dedicated servant of God who ensured that the word of God reaches every Zambian,” he said.
He also assured Pastor Chiluba’s widow that he will ensure that CAMNET Television is not closed so that it continues to preach the gospel of the Lord to the people.
Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) Executive Director, Andrew Mwenda remembered pastor Chiluba as a faithful servant of God, who strived to alleviate poverty among the vulnerable in society.
Bishop Mwenda said late Pastor Chiluba impacted may lives and interacted with every Zambian and all the Zambian Presidents, starting with Kenneth Kaunda up to the current President Hakainde Hichilema.
He explained that Pastor Chiluba was a visionary and an intelligent son of the soil who stood his ground to fight for human emancipation for a better Zambia for all.
Bishop Mwend explained that the fact that late Chiluba hated poverty, he worked tirelessly to provide for the less privileged in society.
Media Owners Association of Zambia Representative, Costa Mwansa described late Chiluba as a father figure and counsellor in media matters.
He explained that Pastor Chiluba was always consultative and fought for the media diversity and plurality so that every Zambian can be accessible to information.
And in her tribute, Pastor Chiluba’s widow, Victoria, appealed to President Hakainde Hichilema to intervene in matters surrounding the possible closure of CAMNET TV.
Pastor Victoria also urged the Head of State to continue providing leadership in the country as President and to look into the welfare of women.
Former Vice-President Nevers Mumba, in his tribute said late Chiluba was a unique human being who loved people deeply and that he was an effective evangelist.
He was dedicated to ensuring that unity of purpose is upheld in the country and advised other political leaders to preach peace and love in the nation.
Dr Mumba also said late Chiluba wanted his church and the TV station to grow and administer the word of God to millions of people.
President Hakainde Hichilema was among several mourners who attended Chiluba’s funeral church service in Lusaka.
