Over 1400 households have benefited from the rain fed Food Security Pack (FSP) programme in Senga Hill District of Northern province.
Senga Hill District Community Development Officer, Faith Chifwembe has disclosed that a total of 1,468 people are expected to benefit from the FSP programme which is aimed at uplifting the welfare of the under-privileged in the district.
Ms, Chifwembe told ZANIS in an interview that the distribution of inputs is also going on smoothly.
She disclosed that each beneficiary is expected to receive two bags each of urea and D-Compound fertilizer, a 10 kilogram bag of maize seed and 10 kilogram bag of beans.
The Community Development Officer has since appealed to beneficiaries to put the inputs to good use so that they can be food secured.
And Memory Namfukwe, a beneficiary, has thanked government for the inputs.
Ms, Namfukwe said the gesture will go a long way in alleviating poverty among household beneficiaries.
She has since advised beneficiaries against misusing the inputs.
