A civic leader in Kaputa District has appealed to government to construct a classroom block at Kasepa Day Secondary School in Mofwe Ward in Chief Mukupa Katandula’s Chiefdom.
Mofwe Ward Councilor, Joseph Katongo told the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Kaputa that Kasepa Day Secondary School has a large population which requires more classroom space.
Mr Katongo said this is because lack of space has made it difficult for learning to take place.
He revealed that the secondary section is borrowing space from primary section, which he said can be avoided.
The civic leader has therefore, called on Kaputa Town Council to quickly build more classroom space using the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
He has also appealed for the construction toilets at Mukonkoto Primary School in the same ward to avoid the outbreak of diseases such as cholera.
“The school has a lot of pupils who can suffer if an outbreak of cholera can come; it needs to be worked on,” said Mr Katongo.
Mr Katongo further said, the school also needs a water reticulation system for pupils to have access to clean water.
