POLICE IN NAKONDE COMMENDED

The District Administration in Nakonde District of Muchinga Province has commended Zambia Police in the district for their dedication and tireless effort to maintain law and order in the border town.

Speaking in an interview with the ZANIS in Nakonde District yesterday, Nakonde District Commissioner Marvelous Sikapizye praised the police for their notable actions in cracking down on criminals, particularly the recent apprehension of seven suspected criminals linked to murders and aggravated robberies

Mr Sikapizye attributed the success of the police operation to the collaboration between the community and law enforcers.

“To our officers, thank you very much for the job well done,” Mr Sikapizye said.

The District Commissioner further urged community members to continue working closely with the police to reduce crime in the district.

He also warned individuals with criminal intentions to cease their activities, as security wings are vigilant and ready to act.

He has also encouraged youths to explore empowerment programmes offered by government through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

“Today your President has given you empowerment programmes through the enhanced CDF. Form a cooperative or club and apply for these funds to better your lives,” Mr Sikapizye advised.

Recently, a joint operation by police in Nakonde, Mbala, and Kasama led to the arrest of seven suspected criminals believed to be responsible for a string of murders and aggravated robberies in Nakonde District.

The operation also led to the recovery of about 14 motorcycles that were stolen from Nakonde.
