CHIEFS HAPPY WITH MWINILUNGA DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRESS

THE Kanong’esha Royal Establishment in Mwinilunga district of North-Western province has praised government for the various developmental programmes being undertaken in the chiefdom. 

Speaking in a message of appreciation availed to ZANIS in Mwinilunga district, Acting Senior Chief Kanong’esha of the Lunda people Jesman Sambaulu, said the Royal Establishment is thankful for developments being undertaken in the region. 

The Acting Senior Chief said people in the chiefdom are particularly happy with the rehabilitation of the main 50 kilometre stretch of the feeder road from the central business district to the palace. 

“The Kanong’esha Royal Establishment would like to appreciate, honour and thank the President of the Republic of Zambia Hakainde Hichilema and his administration for reconstruction of Kanong’esha feeder road,” said the Acting Senior Chief. 

He said the road has been in a deplorable state for many years without attention and had been a serious challenge for movement from the district hospital and the central business district. 

The traditional leader said the chiefdom through the Constituency Development Funds (CDF) allocation, has equally benefited describing the fund as a game changer and a blessing to his subjects in Mwinilunga and Ikelenge districts. 

He said through CDF, the chiefdom has seen the reconstruction of a one by four classroom block at Mulumbi basic school, one by two classroom block at Kanong’esha and Lwawu primary schools including the renovation and expansion of the Mwinilunga local court.

The Acting Chief said other notable projects which have brought joy to the people in the chiefdom are the resumption of construction works at the new district hospital in Kawiku area and the construction of Mudyanyama health post. 

“All in all CDF is a game changer and a blessing to the people of Mwinilunga and Ikelenge districts respectively,” he said. 

He said that the traditional leadership has since pledged to work with President Hakainde Hichilema and his administration, in ensuring that the country prospers economically.
