SMART ZAMBIA INSTITUTE, MULUNGUSHI UNIVERSITY SIGN MOU

SMART Zambia Institute and Mulungushi University have signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the development and implementation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and electronic government in Zambia.

Smart Zambia Institute National Coordinator, Percy Chinyama, says the partnership will leverage high-quality training, research, and consultancy expertise to drive Zambia’s digital agenda.

Speaking at the signing ceremony in Lusaka today, Mr Chinyama, disclosed that the e- government division will provide technical expertise and support, as well as facilitate access to resources and infrastructure.

“This will enable the partnership to tap into the latest technologies and best practices in ICT and electronic government,” Mr Chinyama said.

Mulungushi University Vice Chancellor, Royson Mukwena, stated that the university will provide academic and research expertise, as well as facilitate access to students and faculty.

Professor Mukwena added that the University will ensure that the partnership benefits from the higher learning intsitution’s wealth of knowledge and expertise in ICT and related fields.

Prof Mukwena further indicated that the MoU will have a positive impact on Zambia’s digital transformation, driving economic growth, and improving the lives of citizens.
