AIRTEL TO COMPENSATE AFFECTED CLIENTS

Airtel Zambia Head of Corporate Communications Yuyo Kambikambi says the institution is committed to compensating customers who were affected by recent internet service disruption.

Ms Kambikambi reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to providing high-quality service to the customers.

In response to a press query made available to ZANIS, Ms Kambikambi noted that the institution regards network performance and customer satisfaction seriously. 

“We acknowledge the recent internet service disruption on February 2, 2025, and sincerely regret any inconvenience caused to our valued customers,” Ms Kambikambi said.

She added that the institution is a responsible corporate entity that operates with integrity.

“In full compliance with all regulatory requirements, therefore all impacted customers will be compensated with data bundles,” Ms Kambikambi noted

 She added that Airtel will continue to invest in network infrastructure to enhance service quality.

The Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) ordered Airtel Zambia to compensate affected customers following a data outage on February 2, 2025. 

The outage impacted data services in Lusaka, Southern, Western, Central, and Eastern Provinces.

The estimated total value of the compensation is K4,000,000.
