The government has described the USD 140 million dollars Health training project being implemented by the Rotary Club of Lusaka Midtown, as a progressive one.
Ministry of Information and Media Permanent Secretary, Thabo Kawana said the programme will complement the government’s efforts in the provision of health care services.
ZANIS reports that Mr Kawana was Speaking during the Rotary Club Midtown Media engagement in Lusaka.
And Midtown District Governor, Tom Kamwendo said the training dubbed, “the Rotary Healthy Communities Challenge” aims to train Community Health Care workers in Northern and Central Provinces.
Mr Kamwendo highlighted that the training programme is focusing on Malaria detection, respiratory diseases and diarrhea ailments and that it is being implemented in Mozambique, Congo (DR) and Nigeria.
Earlier, Rotary Club President, Nasitwitwi Chisenga, stated that her club has today celebrated a milestone through the donation of various food supplies plus, tree seedlings among other items to persons with disabilities.
Meanwhile, the Rotary Club Past District Governor, said the club has showcased positive strides in Zambia.
