KALUMBILA COUNCIL PAYS CDF FEES TO BOARDING SCHOOLS

The Kalumbila Town Council has paid fees to Boarding Schools for the learners who have been sponsored under Solwezi West Constituency Development Fund (CDF) bursaries component.

ZANIS reports that speaking when the Local Authority conducted a verification exercise at Mwinilunga Boarding Secondary School, Principal Education Standards Officer (PESO) Patrick Kaonga expressed thanks to the Local Authority and appealed for the expansion of infrastructure in secondary schools following the  increase in the number of  pupils.

“What We want to see now is infrastructure development concentrated at the secondary school level, like here at Mwinilunga Boarding School is expecting over 300 pupils and the school has limited hostels,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kasempa Boys Boarding Secondary School Headteacher Victor Muntanga appreciated Kalumbila Town Council for timely payment of fees, noting that it has been helping the schools plan effectively.

Speaking earlier, Kalumbila Town Council Social Economical Planner, Fitzjohn Mukonde encouraged the sponsored pupils to concentrate on education.

Among the schools verified are Munilunga, Kayombo, Kasempa boys and Mukinge girls Boarding Secondary Schools.

One of the sponsored learners, Drucilla Nyirenda, thanked the government and urged others who are sponsored to use the bursaries well.
