Lusaka province Principal Public Relation Officer Logic Lukwanda says government has completed a land survey of all government property under the education sector in Luangwa District.
Mr Lukwanda says that land surveying was conducted to ensure that government property such as school infrastructure was put on title to avoid encroachment.
In a statement made available to ZANIS in Lusaka, Mr Lukwanda indicated that public infrastructure under the Ministry of Education was successfully surveyed ahead of placement on title.
“The exercise was done during the course of 2024 and as of December 31, 2024, all eighteen (18) properties were surveyed and are set to be put on title,” Mr Lukwanda said.
He noted that the exercise is in line with government’s directive to ensure all public institutions are put on title to safeguard land from encroachment on government institutions.
Mr Lukwanda said that government is implementing the national titling exercise for all government institutions in order to curb encroachment as guided by the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
“Upon completion of the surveying process in Luangwa the provincial surveyors have already moved to Chongwe to survey land housing public infrastructure, the team is expected to cover all six districts under Lusaka province to ensure land hosting public property and institutions is secured from unscrupulous people who are in the habit of encroachment,” he said.
He stated that provincial surveyors are rolling out a programme to survey land housing public property and institutions in the province.
