Some government employees who applied for 20 percent partial withdrawal from the National Pensions Scheme Authority (NAPSA) in Lundazi district have bemoaned the delay to access the funds from the scheme.

One of the affected employees, Moffat Nyirenda, says since he submitted his details to NAPSA four months ago, he has not accessed the funds from the scheme.

Mr. Nyirenda complained to ZANIS in Lundazi that despite spending money to follow up the issue at the NAPSA regional office in Chipata, his efforts had not yielded any positive results.

He lamented that the continued delay to access the funds will overshadow his plans and affect his family.

Mr. Nyirenda has since appealed to relevant authorities to intervene in the matter.

Meanwhile, Lundazi District Labour Officer, Joseph Mugolo, has confirmed receiving complaints from several people who have not accessed the 20 percent partial withdrawal despite submitting their details to the scheme.

Mr. Mugolo said he has since engaged officers from NAPSA over the matter.
