Zambians urged to consider traditional ways of preserving food

Sylva Catering, Managing Director, Sylva Banda has urged Zambians to consider the traditional way of preserving food especially in this time of load shedding.

Speaking in an interview with the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Lusaka,   Mrs Banda said as the country experiences severe energy blackouts, causing food spoilage and unhealthy for consumption, there is a need to use traditional methods of preserving food.

She has since advised everyone to stop using refrigerators for the meantime to preserve food until load shedding ends to curb the increment of diarrheal cases.

She urged Zambians to purchase solar dryers to preserve food as it is healthier and insures nutrients security.

“She said people must not just fold hands and wait for load shedding to end ,but that they must  find other traditional ways of how they can stop their food from going bad.
