Minister of Transport and Logistics Frank Tayali has challenged graduates from the Zambia Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport to use their newly acquired skills and knowledge to contribute to the growth of the logistics and transport sector in the country.
Mr Tayali notes that the logistics and transport sector is crucial to driving the country’s economic growth.
The Minister indicated that the country heavily relies on logistics and transport in the facilitation of trade and commerce hence the call for more professionals to enter in the industry.
ZANIS reports that Mr Tayali implored the graduates to use their skills and knowledge to contribute to the thriving of the logistics and transport sector, as well as resolve some of the challenges facing the industry.
He expressed optimism that the contribution of the graduates to the transport and logistics sector will play a pivotal role in shaping the sector.
Mr Tayali said this in a speech read for him by Ministry of Transport and Logistics Director for Roads and Railways Nkumbu Siame at the Inaugural Zambia Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (ZCILT) graduation.
And speaking at the same occasion, ZCILT president Brigadier General (Rtd) Fred Mwale cautioned the graduates to exhibit high levels of professionalism as they venture into the industry.
Brigadier General Mwale urged the graduates to observe the code of ethics as they discharge their duties in the industry.
He expressed optimism that the knowledge the graduates have acquired will enable them to contribute positively to the logistics and transport sector.
