Three men  have been arrested by the Police  for allegedly murdering a 32 year old man of Kawama township of Ndola District on the Copperbelt province.

Police Commanding Officer, Peacewell Mweemba disclosed to ZANIS that George Nyimbili, a 32-year-old man, was allegedly murdered by three individuals, Evaristo Sakawila 50, Emma Tambuli 36, and Febby Mphandika 65, after being beaten up.

Mr Mweemba said the incident occurred on March 3, 2025, at 02:00 hours in Kawama Township, Ndola.

“According to the report, the victim’s father, Winson Simpamba, witnessed the incident.

He reported hearing noise outside his house around 01:30 hours and found his son tied to a mango tree, being beaten by the suspects with sticks.

When he asked why they were beating his son, they claimed George was a thief. Winson pleaded with them to take George to the police station instead,” he explained.

He said after pleading with the suspects to take his son to the police station, Winson Simpamba left the scene and returned to his house.

“Around 02:00 hours, he heard people talking nearby and discovered his son, George Nyimbili, had been dumped by the gate, unconscious with severe head injuries

Mr Mweemba said Winson sought help from his other son to move George inside the house.

He added that the father then arranged for a taxi to take George to Ndola Teaching Hospital, where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit and passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025, around 21:00 hours.

“The incident was initially reported at the Ndola Teaching Hospital police post, where a medical report form was issued.

He stated that the family was only informed of George’s death on Saturday, March 8, 2025, around 17:00 hours, when they visited the hospital,”Mr Mweemba said.

He said the family was advised to report the matter at Chifubu Police Station, where a docket of the case was opened, adding that further investigations are ongoing.
